Assembly Enhancements (What's New in 2026.2)

Enhancements in this release include a new Place and Insert command, which enables automatic insertion, placement, and constraint of selected fasteners to specified geometry. Additionally, there are several improvements to Model States.

Place and Insert Command for Multiple Constraints

In Assemblies, a new Place and Insert command is added to the Place drop-down menu. You no longer need to insert components individually. By selecting the target geometry, the chosen fastener is automatically inserted, placed, and constrained to the specified number of holes, for example.

Browse the component which you want to place, and select the target geometry. You can select multiple edges at once. Note that you can only select circular edges now.

Use the filter to exclude target edges that are outside the specified size.

The Pick Component First button is also available. When active, select a component before each target geometry selection so that the immediate geometry selection is restricted to only the picked component.

Activate the Face-selection filter and select the face to choose the edges that meet the requirements. By default, all circular edges on the face are selected. This can be used together with the size filter to exclude circular edges that do not meet the size requirements.

Model States Enhancements

Always expand delegated model states when the MS node is expanded

Previously, when expanding the Model State folder, all child delegated model states were hidden under an expander, making them difficult to find and requiring more clicks. Starting from release, when the Model State folder is expanded, all child delegated model states are also expanded and always visible.

Update Model State text color to blue when being edited

Previously, it was difficult to quickly see which model states were being edited by viewing the text. Now, the model state being edited is shown in blue. Note that this change applies only to model states and will not affect iComponents, Views, or Positions.

Updated BOM style to see 0 quantity elements

It is now easier to distinguish items with a quantity of zero in the Bill of Materials. The background color for rows with a quantity of zero is different from that of other rows.

Removed alert when entering factory scope for model states

The warning message that was displayed when switching the model state to a Factory Scope is now removed.
