Enhancements to Hardware Support (What's New in 2027)
Learn about hardware support enhancements in this release of Inventor.
DirectX 12 Support
With this release, Inventor will use DirectX 12 (DX12) for graphics. You can return to using DirectX 11 using the Application Options 
Hardware tab.
Note: Inventor must be closed and restarted for hardware support changes to take effect.
If DX12 is supported by the machine hardware, Inventor will default to using DX12.
Depending on the machine configuration one of the following messages may display:
DX12 is not installed or may not be supported
Hardware doesn’t support either DX11 or DX12
For cases where the DX12 driver isn't sufficiently robust
