Results data for on-premise and cloud simulations can be stored on your local machine. For on-premise simulations, results can also be stored on the server where your database is located, while results for cloud simulations are also stored on the cloud.
By default, all results are stored on your local machine in the Local Results Folder. You can also store on-premise results in the Remote Results Root, which can be located on the server where your database is located.
Results stored locally are only available to users on that machine. Results on the server can be accessed by all users, and all users can download results from the cloud.
There are two methods of storing on-premise results on the server:
- When you create the run, select the On server (shared) option on the Schedule Job(s) dialog.
- Once the run is complete, use the Results Management facilities to copy locally stored results to the server.
If you delete the local results for cloud simulations, they are only deleted from your Local Results Folder and should still be available for download from the cloud.
Regenerating results
You can regenerate results by running the simulations again. There are some rules governing the regeneration of on-premise results when those results have been moved:
- If the results have been moved to the server and the data files still exist on the server, regeneration will generate the files on the server.
- If the results have been moved to the server and then deleted, regeneration will generate the files according to the location set in the Store results section of the Schedule Job(s) dialog.
