Network Menu

The following options are available:

Menu item

Description

Version control

Contains menu items that enable management of version controlled items.

Menu Item

Description

Update (get changes made by others)

Updates the current network with any changes committed by other users to the current database. If conflicts occur a warning message will be displayed. See Getting Other Users Changes for more information.

Toolbar: File

Commit changes to database

Enables changes made in the current network to be copied to the current database. The network will be updated with any changes made by other users. Any conflicts must be resolved before changes can be committed. See Committing Your Changes for more information.

Revert changes

Enables all changes made since changes were last committed to the current database to be discarded. See Undoing Your Own Changes for more information.

Resolve commit conflicts

Enables conflicts between changes made to the network and changes committed by other users to be viewed and resolved. See Resolving Conflicts for more information.

Show commit history

Displays the Commit History dialog.

Toolbar: None

Compare

Enables comparison of a network with another network, or with an earlier version of the same network. See Comparing Version Controlled Items for more information.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan is the currently active window.

Scenarios

Contains menu items that enable scenarios to be created and managed. See Scenarios and Scenarios Toolbar topics for details.

Description

Create Scenario

Creates a new scenario. Selecting this option displays the Create New Scenario dialog, where the name of the new scenario can be entered and where it can be specified if it is to be copied from the base network or an existing scenario.

Delete Scenario

Deletes the current scenario. The user will be prompted for confirmation.

This option is not available if the base network is the current scenario.

Rename Scenario

Renames the current scenario. Selecting this option launches the Rename Scenario Dialog, which allows the user to enter a new name for the scenario.

This option is not available if the base network is the current scenario.

Manage Scenarios

Manages scenarios. Selecting this option displays the Manage Scenarios Dialog. A large variety of tasks can be performed on scenarios from this dialog (creating a new scenario, deleting the selected scenario, merging scenarios, making a scenario as the base network).

Excluded objects grid

Displays a grid of excluded objects. Excluded objects are objects that are present in the base network but not in the current scenario. These objects are shown in light grey in the GeoPlan view of the scenario and their properties can be seen in this grid. The grid is organised in tabs to accommodate for each object type.

Restore selected excluded objects

Restores a selection of excluded objects. Selecting this option restores the selection of excluded objects in the current scenario. The user is prompted to confirm the restore action.

This option is not available if the base network is the current scenario.

Restore excluded objects

Restores excluded objects. Selecting this option restores ALL the excluded objects in the current scenario. The user is prompted to confirm the restore action.

This option is not available if the base network is the current scenario.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan or network Grid Window is the currently active window.

User defined defaults

Contains menu items that enable a number of network object default values to be edited. These defaults are applied if the #D (default) flag is set for any of the defined data fields. See User Defined Defaults for more details.

Validate network

Allows checking of the network for missing values, errors and inconsistencies. See Validating Networks for details.

Results replay

Contains submenu items allowing control of simulation replay.

Rewind

Jump to the start of the simulation. If a replay is running it will continue from the start of the simulation

Step back in time through the simulation

Pause the replay.

Play

Play a replay of the results of the simulation.

Start the process of recording a simulation replay as an AVI video file.

Loop

Download full results

Starts the process of downloading full results.

Only enabled when a viewing a replay of a cloud simulation for which only summary results have been downloaded to your local results folder.

Clear Results

Clear the results currently displayed

Availability: Whenever a simulation or simulation grid window is the currently active window.

Results analysis

Contains menu items that enable saving of Results Analysis Objects to a Results Analysis list and clearing of currently displayed Results Analysis objects from the GeoPlan Window.

Save As

Use this command to save the Results Analysis Objects currently displayed on the GeoPlan Window to a Results Analysis item in the current database.

Clear

Clear the display of Results Analysis Objects from the GeoPlan Window.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan Window is the currently active window.

Import

Contains menu items that enable import of network data from external data sources.

Snapshot file

Enables import of network data from a InfoWorks ICM snapshot file.

Open Data Import Centre

Enables import of network object data from external data sources.

Update from AutoCAD DWG file

Enables import and update of network data from CSV files. See Importing from CSV Files for more details.

Update from collection network

Model

Contains menu items that allow network data to be imported from other modelling packages.

Contains menu items that enable export of network data to external data files.

Run Ruby script Used to select a Ruby script file to be run. Displays a Windows Open dialog from which a file can be selected.

List all hyperlinks

Displays a list of all hyperlinks attached to objects in the currently active network. The list can be used to access the hyperlinked information.

Clear ground model

Clear the Ground Model loaded onto the current GeoPlan View. No changes will be made to the Ground Model itself. See Loading a Ground Model on the GeoPlan for more details.

Availability: Whenever a Ground Model is loaded onto the current GeoPlan Window.

Overview

Displays a summary of the objects in the network and some additional information about selected parameters. See Network Summary for more details.

Name generation Used to set options for automatic generation of Node IDs and, for SWMM networks only, Link IDs based on coordinates or on a user defined pattern.

Availability: Whenever a GeoPlan Window is the currently active window.

Background network Displays the Background Network Dialog. The dialog allows selection of a network to be displayed in the GeoPlan Window as a background layer in conjunction with the currently displayed network.
