To save a selection to an existing selection list
- Select a number of objects, by clicking, opening an existing list or running a query (or any combination of these methods).
- Choose Save selection from the Selection menu.
- In the lower part of the Save As dialog, click on a selection list item and click on Save.
The selected selection list will be overwritten.
Applying
To apply a selection list to a network you need to open the selection list when the network is open. You can:
- Drag and drop the selection list onto the GeoPlan Window for the network.
- Drag and drop the selection list onto the main window background. This will apply the selection list to the current network.
- Right click on the selection list and choose Open from the popup menu. This also applies the selection list to the current network.
If the selection list contains profiles imported from a SWWM5 text file, then a message is displayed when you apply the list (using one of the methods described previously) to a SWMM network. Click Yes if you want the imported profiles to be set as the Branch ID property for the applicable links, or No if not.
Multiple Selection Lists
You can apply more than one selection list to a network. You can only do so by dragging and dropping directly onto the GeoPlan Window. The other methods above will only apply one of the selection lists.
- Hold down the CTRL key and select more than one selection list
- Click on one of the selected lists, and drag and drop onto the GeoPlan Window
You must apply multiple selection lists at the same time. If you try to add another selection list later, it will replace the current selections.
Opening as Grid Window
To open a Grid Window of the names of all network objects in the selection list:
- Right click on the selection list and choose Open As from the popup menu. The Select Format dialog will be displayed.
- Choose the Grid View option from the Select Format dialog
Note: In the grid view, you can hide empty tabs. To do this, select Hide empty tabs from the grid's context menu. To reveal these tabs again, select Show hidden tabs from the grid's context menu.
