Merging Polygons

This function is used to combine a pair of polygons into a single polygon. Only polygons of the same type can be merged.

To merge polygons

1. Select exactly two contiguous polygons of the same type on the GeoPlan Window.
2. Select the GeometryMerge polygons option from the Model menu. This displays the Merge Polygons Dialog.
3. In this dialog:
   • Enter a name for the new combined polygon in the New polygon name field.
   • Choose which of the selected polygons will provide the properties for the new polygon from the Copy properties from list.
   • Check the Remove old polygons option to delete the original selected polygons on creation of the new polygon.
4. Click OK to merge the polygons.
