Copying of Simulation Results, Ground Models and Time Series Data Objects Dialog

This dialog is displayed when copying between databases, where the items being copied include one or more simulations, ground models or time series data objects.

It lists all simulation results, ground models and time series data objects included in the items to be copied, and lets you choose whether or not to include them in the copy.

When copying into a transportable database, data is compressed to make the most efficient use of space. This process can be time consuming and it may be quicker to exclude results files, ground models and time series data objects at this stage and regenerate them when the data is needed.

Tip: The options available in the dialog reflect the nature of the items being copied (see screenshots below).

Copying of Simulation Results Dialog

Option

Description

Copy ground models

Available when at least one ground model is included in the item(s) being copied.

Because ground models are potentially very large, you can exclude these files when making the copy by ensuring the box is unchecked.

Copy simulation results

Available when at least one simulation is included in the item(s) being copied.

Because results files are potentially very large, you can exclude these files when making the copy by ensuring the box is unchecked.

Note: The box is disabled when copying simulation results from:
  • A cloud database to a transportable, if the database version for the transportable is earlier than 2024.5.
  • An on-premise to a cloud database.
  • A cloud to another cloud database.

Copy time series data

Available when at least one time series data object is included in the item(s) being copied.

The following options are available:
  • No - Ignore time series data objects when making the copy.

Enabled when items to be copied do not contain any simulations.

  • Yes - all data - Copy all the time series data objects present in the item to be copied, regardless of whether they are used in the simulations to be copied.
  • Yes - only data referenced by copied simulations - Restrict the copying to the time series data objects used in the copied simulations.

Enabled when items to be copied contain at least one simulation.

Note: These options are currently disabled when copying TSD data from a cloud database.

Sim / Ground Model / TSD grid

This grid lists the simulation results, ground model and time series data objects present in the items to be copied. These are the objects you need to make a decision about and decide whether they should be copied.

Continue

Copy the items using the selected settings.

Displays the Copying of Simulation Results from Cloud Database dialog when the Copy simulation results box is checked and you are copying results from a cloud database to a transportable database, and one or more of the simulations have summary or no results downloaded.

Cancel

Abort the copy operation.
