Creating a new database

Databases can be created from within InfoWorks WS Pro Administrator or IWLive Pro (InfoWater) Configuration Manager.

1. Select File | Database Administration | New database or Database | New database, depending on the product.

   The Open Database dialog opens.

2. To create a new workgroup database on an existing hosted server:
   1. Select the Workgroup option.
   2. If there is not already a connection to the server, connect to the server.
   3. In the database section, click New.
   4. In the New Database dialog:
      • If you want to assign the new database to a group, select an existing group or type in the name for a new group.
      • Enter a name for the new database.
      • Select the version of the database that is to be used for the new database. The available versions are listed in the Database version drop-down menu.
      • Click OK.
   5. In the Open Database dialog, click OK.
3. To create a new standalone database:
   1. Select the Standalone option.
   2. Click New.
   3. In the Save As dialog, choose a location and name for the new standalone database.
   4. Select the version of the database that is to be used for the new database. The available versions are listed in the Database version drop-down menu.
   5. Click Save.
   6. In the Open Database dialog, click OK.
