If you open an enterprise industry model project in the Maintenance workspace, you will see any autogenerated layers in the map and in the Display Manager. Generate the graphic to see the other layers specified in the current display model. Once the layers appear, you also have a connection to the Autodesk FDO Provider for Enterprise Industry Models in Data Connect.
Once you have this connection, you can style and manipulate layers in the Display Manager as you would any other layers. This includes, for example:
- Changing the display order.
- Specifying different styles for different views based on scale.
For example, you can highlight all the roads in a parcel that need to be paved or identify all the lots within 100 meters of a proposed highway.
- Creating themes for feature layers to identify different types of data.
Change colors, line types, symbols, text, or other properties that can help you present map information and tell a story. Themes can help make information more visible, illustrate how data is distributed, make data easier to analyze and interpret, and reveal patterns.
- Grouping layers logically (rather than in draw order).
- Removing a layer from the Display Manager.
This does not remove the feature class from the database.
To keep your changes, save the display model. Otherwise, the changes remain in effect for the current session only.
