To Set Up Tooltips for a Feature Layer

Tooltips are descriptive messages that are displayed near the cursor when it hovers over a toolbar or panel button, a menu item, DWG entities, or features in your map.

To set up feature tooltips

1. Do one of the following:
   • Right-click a feature layer in the Display Manager and then click Set Up Tooltips.
   • Click Data Table > Options > Set Up Tooltips.
2. In the Hyperlink section, specify if you want to display text or a web address in the tooltip.
3. In the Feature Properties section, select the properties you want displayed in the tooltip.
4. Click Create a Calculation if you want add a calculation to the tooltip. For example, you could create a calculation that multiplies the width of an area by its length to display the square footage.

   If calculations have already been created, you can select one from the list.
