Use version 2 of the Canadian National Transformation
- Obtain a copy of the data file.

Click Apply to create a new login to their database. Agree to the terms of their licensing agreement, fill out the form identifying yourself so that Geomatics Canada satisfies ISO 9000 quality control requirements. Then you have access to a download which will include the NTV2_0.gsb file, among others.
- Once you have the file, copy it into the Autodesk shared coordinate system folder. By default, it is located in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Geospatial Coordinate Systems\Canada. Enter the name, Ntv2_0.gsb.
- Using a text editor such as Notepad, open Nad27ToNad83.gdc (located by default in the C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Geospatial Coordinate Systems folder).
- Delete the initial pound sign (#) from the line that begins: #.\Canada\Ntv2_0.gsb.
Use version 1 of the Canadian National Transformation
- Obtain a copy of the data file.
- Copy it into the C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Geospatial Coordinate Systems\Canada folder. Enter the name, grid11.dac.
- Open Nad27ToNad83.gdc.
- Delete the initial pound sign (#) from the line that begins: #.\Canada\grid11.dac.
