In this lesson, you will create a service point.
You start by locating the transformer for the service point, using feature class forms. Forms are another special feature of industry models. Forms are similar to the Data Table, but contain a separate entry for each feature in a feature class. Using forms, you can locate a specific feature and zoom to it in your map.
Once you locate the transformer, you will add a service point. Even though your drawing contains no service point data, AutoCAD Map 3D toolset knows which layer to add the service point to, and what properties it needs to have. The Electric tab on the Maintenance workspace ribbon lets you insert the service point with a single click.
You will connect the service point to the transformer using a conductor. Then, you will check the connectivity of these features using an analysis workflow, available only in the Maintenance workspace.
