To Create an Industry Model Template

You can create your own industry model template in the Autodesk Infrastructure Administrator .

To create an industry model template

  1. Log in as Map System User.
  2. Start Autodesk Infrastructure Administrator.
  3. Click File > New.
  4. Click any of the following:
    • Modules -- Pre-defined data structures. You specify a module only for a new industry model; existing industry models already have one. Generally, you include only one module per model. For example, an electric industry model has an electric module designed for a particular geographic area. A module determines the industry model schema, and specifies pre-configured forms for industry model features.

Extensions -- Extensions are database enhancements such as COGO, Dimensions, or Survey.

If you have created a data model and saved it as a SQLite file, you can load it for this industry model template. The data model specifies the feature classes and structure for the industry model.

    • Units -- Each industry model includes multiple units. The specific units depend on the industry. For example, an electrical industry model includes length units as well as electrical units.
    • Spatial settings, such as tolerance. The specific settings vary by industry.
  5. Click OK to create the modules and data models.
  6. When the process is finished, click Update.

The process updates the standard data structure.

  7. Specify the remaining settings for this industry model template. See Viewing and Editing an Industry Model Template.
  8. When you have finished, click Save.

Specify a location and name for your template. By default, templates use the extension .DWT, and are stored in the Industry Templates folder.
