The Blur brush (hotkey: Shift) softens detail in the areas you stroke and is ideal for directly retouching localized regions on your painted 3D models.

To blur detail
- In the Paint Layers window, select the paint layer where you want to apply some localized blur.
- In the Paint Tools tray, select the Blur tool (hotkey: Shift).
- Stroke across the painted texture in the region you want to blur/soften.
Paint is blurred in the areas you stroke. Adjust the Blur Radius and Strength properties to control the amount of blur produced.
Note: The Blur and Clone brushes ignore any active stencil as you paint. (See also Paint using stencil projection.)
