What's New in 2019.0.5

The 2019.0.5 Update introduces updates and enhancements that expand the capabilities and increase solution accuracy of previous releases.

Windows installation

The 2019.0.5 Update for Windows is an .exe file that is installed on top of the 2019.0.2 Update.

Important: Check that you have updated your 2019 installation to 2019.0.2 before attempting to install this 2019.0.5 Update.
Important: On a Windows operating system, if you have more than one Moldflow product installed on a machine, ensure you install the 2019.0.2 update for each product before you begin to install the 2019.0.5 update.

Graphics cards

We endeavor to support graphics card drivers as they are updated. If you experience a problem while running the software, check and ensure you have installed the latest driver for your video card. Please refer to the card manufacturer's website for drivers and instructions. See the graphics requirements in the Moldflow Installation supplement for the minimum required to obtain acceptable simulations.

Supported CAD file formats

The following additional CAD file versions can now be imported:

  • SolidWorks 2019
  • JT 10.3

Simulation Job Manager

This 2019.0.5 update ships with the same version of the Simulation Job Manager (SJM) 7.2 as the 2019.0.2 Update.

Important: If you have SJM 7.3 installed, and you have not yet updated to 2019.0.2, you must uninstall SJM 7.3 (using Control Panel > Programs and Features) before attempting to install the 2019.0.5 update.

Once you have completed the 2019.0.5 update, you can re-apply the SJM 7.3 update to the 2019.0.5 update.

SJM 7.2 has only one instance per system, regardless of how many separate users are on that system.

  • Multiple users:

Where multiple operators use the same machine, the installation of 2019 Moldflow products might fail because Windows only allows the automatic removal of older versions of SJM for the logged-on user.

To rectify this situation, uninstall all versions of SJM, for all user profiles, and then install the Moldflow product.

  • Multiple versions of SJM:

Installing Simulation Job Manager 7.2 patches existing versions of SJM.

Note: If you install an earlier version of Moldflow after installing Moldflow 2019, uninstall the Simulation Job Manager 6.x:
    1. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall Simulation Job Manager 6.x

Important: Do not uninstall Simulation Job Manager 7.x
    2. Execute C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Simulation Job Manager 7\sjmClientPatcher.exe

Material database changes since the 2019.0.2 Update

The 2019.0.5 Update contains some Material database changes. For details please the Autodesk_Moldflow_2019_material_changes.pdf, which is located in the help folder of your installation path, typically C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Moldflow Advisers 20xx\help

Summary of changes to the Thermoplastic material database since the Autodesk Moldflow 2019.0.2 update:

Total number of suppliers: 548

  • New suppliers added: 32
  • Suppliers deleted: 24

Total number of grades: 10989

  • Grades added: 629
  • Grades deleted: 162
  • Grades amended: 447

Solver changes in the 2019.0.5 update

  • 3D fiber decomposition:

A change has been made for polymer matrix mechanical property decomposition for fiber filled materials when used in the 3D flow and 3D warp solver.

Note: This change does not impact Midplane or Dual Domain solvers.

This change causes slight differences in 3D flow mechanical property prediction and 3D warp deflection prediction for many filled materials, while large mechanical property and warp deflection differences will be observed for a small number of filled materials.
