File type association

In addition to the HTML format, project reports can be generated to be viewed in the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation (PPT) format.

Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 or later must be installed to generate project reports in the PPT format.

It is recommended that you associate the AVI animation file format with the default Microsoft program that is provided for viewing these files. If this file type is associated with other programs, animations that are embedded in reports in PPT format may not display properly when the reports are viewed using Microsoft PowerPoint.

Affected systems and applications

All Windows systems are affected by these required file type association settings.

Reports can be viewed by using the correct PowerPoint program in the Microsoft Office 2010 suite or later versions.

Required settings

The file type associations are set in the Control Panel on Windows systems.

Changing the file type associations as described restores Windows default behavior and file type associations, which other graphic programs might have overridden. Changing these file type association settings should not cause problems when using any other programs.

The *.avi animation file type should be associated with Windows Media Player.
