Named User License

The Named User license is a licensing scheme where individuals maintain an Autodesk Account and use logins to access their products. The Named User license can be managed by administrators through Autodesk Accounts, on an individual or teams basis.

Note: You can also use Tokens that you have in your account to run jobs, on a pay per result basis. The Token jobs can be run concurrently with the jobs running on your subscription license, thereby extending the number of concurrent jobs that can be run.

Essential Domains

You need unrestricted access to the following domain for all products:

  • .api.autodesk.com (listens on port 443)

Concurrent Sessions

You can install Moldflow Synergy on more than one computer, but you can only run it on one computer at a time. When you start Synergy, if it is already running on another computer using the same Autodesk Account, you will be given the opportunity to end the other session and continue. If you choose to end the running session, the files will be saved automatically before closing. If autosave fails for any reason, you can manually save the files.

Note: Moldflow Insight solvers can be run simultaneously on multiple computers.

Concurrent Jobs

Product Concurrent jobs with license Pay per result
Moldflow Insight 3 (local and LAN computers) Pay per analysis component

e.g. Fill+Pack (also known as Flow) + Warp is 2 analysis components

Offline behavior

User Interface:

Your computer must always be online while solving studies with a Named User license. If it is offline for more than 15 minutes, the files are saved automatically, the license is returned, and the application is blocked. If autosave fails, you can save the files manually before the application closes.

For cases where the device is placed in sleep or hibernation mode, the license is renewed when the device resumes and you can continue working without interruption.

Solvers:

Software VersionWhen a computer goes offline during an analysis
Moldflow 2023 FCSIf you are offline for more than 15 minutes, the analysis will abort.
Moldflow 2023 Update 1 (and later)The analysis will pause while the computer is offline. When this happens, the analysis log will record the start and end of the pause. The analysis will abort if you are offline continuously for 24 hours or if you restart the computer.
Note: Disconnecting the computer entirely from the Local Area Network (LAN) may also cause the Simulation Compute Manager (SCM) to abort or immediately pause the analysis. This is not related to the Named User license. When this occurs, the analysis log will not show any pause status messages.
