Input Data
The organization of data required to create a Moldflow material udb file is in dialogs accessed from the Home screen. The first column displays the essential properties, while the second column shows the optional properties.
The input data required for a Thermoplastic and a Thermoset differ. So the Home screen will only display input dialogs relevant to Thermoplastic or Thermoset data fitting. The input dialogs and whether they are essential or optional inputs are in the following table.
Thermoplastic Input Data Dialogs | Essential or Optional data |
---|---|
General Information, Filler, Processing and Design, Specific Heat, Thermal Conductivity, Viscosity Input, PVT Input, Mechanical Input | Essential |
Melt Flow Rate, Optical, Powder, Microcellular, Crystallisation, Weldline, Stress-Strain (Tension), Stress-Strain (Compression) | Optional |
Thermoset Input Data Dialogs | Essential or Optional data |
---|---|
General Information, Filler, Processing and Design, Specific Heat, Thermal Conductivity, Raw Cure Kinetics, Raw Reactive Viscosity | Essential |
Raw PVT (Uncured), Raw PVT (Cured) | Optional (required for Pack) |
Mechanical Input | Optional (required for Warp) |
Certain material properties, such as the reactive viscosity, may depend on cure kinetics properties. To ensure all prerequisites, the user interface enables each input in a sequential manner. This ensures that the required information is present before moving on to the next step.
