General Information dialog

This dialog provides general, descriptive information identifying the thermoplastics material.

Dialog entry Explanation
Family name The name of a family of materials, for example, Polycarbonate. Each material is a member of a family of materials.
Trade name The name under which the material or machine is traded.
Manufacturer The manufacturer of the machine or material.
Material Link The web site of the material supplier. Copy the link text, if provided, and paste it in a web browser to go to the material supplier's web site.
Family abbreviation The shortened version of a material family name. For example, PC is the abbreviation for the family name Polycarbonate.Note: Some families contain subsets, and there is an abbreviation for each subset. For example, TPE, TPO, TPU, and TPR are family abbreviations within the Thermoplastic Elastomer family.
Material structure Identifies the selected material as either amorphous or semi-crystalline.
Data source Describes the origin of the selected data.
Date last modified The time when changes were last made to the selected data.
Date tested Specifies the date when the material was first tested.
Material ID An identifier used by the database, which is unique to each dataset entry. It is used for reference purposes.
Grade code A reference identifier.
Supplier code A reference identifier, based on information from the material supplier.
Data status Indicates whether the data is confidential.
