TimeLiner Costs
TimeLiner allows you to assign various costs to a task, so that you can track the cost of a project throughout the schedule. Costs can be imported from an external project scheduling software, or assigned manually in the Tasks tab of the TimeLiner window.
There are five cost types available:
- Material Cost
- Labor Cost
- Equipment Cost
- Subcontractor Cost
- Total Cost
The Total Cost is the sum of the other costs assigned to a task, and cannot be modified. Costs cannot be added to summary tasks. The summary task's costs are the sum of the costs of its child tasks.
During simulation there are no costs displayed against a task in the overlay text until the task is complete. At the beginning of a task any assigned costs will be at 0, and at the end of a task the full task costs are applied.
You can use the Overlay Text Dialog Box, accessed through the Simulation Settings Dialog Box to add costs to the overlay text displayed during simulation. Costs displayed on the overlay text will be calculated based on the position of the current simulation.
