Search Directories

Navisworks searches for a variety of configuration files in subdirectories of three standard directories.

These files can be overridden on a per user, all users or per installation basis. The search directories are:

• AppData\Roaming\Autodesk Navisworks 2022 within the current user profile. For example, C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk Navisworks Manage 2022, where is the name of the current user.
• \ within the all users default profile. For example, C:\Users\All Users\Autodesk Navisworks Manage 2022.
• Within the Autodesk Navisworks install directory. For example, C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2022.

Two additional directories, Site and Project, may be used to share various configuration settings with other users. When you run Navisworks for the first time, the settings are picked up from the installation directory. Subsequently, Navisworks examines the current user profile and the all users profile on the local machine, and then checks the settings in the Project Directory and the Site Directory. The files in the Project Directory take precedence.
