Netfabb Local Simulation Installation and Setup

If you are installing Local Simulation on a Windows computer, follow the standard Autodesk procedure for downloading and installing products from your Autodesk Account, or from the Autodesk desktop app:

Local Simulation always makes use of a network license, so you will follow the procedure to set up a license server as part of the installation. In fact you may plan to set up a single server to support both Netfabb and Local Simulation licenses.

To run Netfabb Simulation it is recommended that the workstation have at least 14 processing cores and 128 GB of RAM.

If you are installing Local Simulation on a Linux computer, see the topic Linux Installation.

If you have not previously installed other Autodesk products, then during the Local Simulation installation you may see a dialog requesting that you agree to the collection of product usage data to support Autodesk analytics, for product improvement purposes. If you decide later that you want to opt out of this program, you can do so by selecting an option on the Help menu of an Autodesk desktop product. For example, in Netfabb, select Help > Desktop Analytics. If you want to opt out on a computer without any installed Autodesk desktop products, use the batch file located in the Local Simulation install directory, in \bin\DesktopAnalyticsOpt-out.bat.

After installing Local Simulation, you will need to configure a number of environment variables.
