Working with projects

What you can do with Netfabb's native format to save your work

A Netfabb project includes all currently loaded generic platforms, parts and their attached modules such as support structures, loaded machine workspaces, materials in use, and much more.

Caution: When you create or load a new project, the current one is closed without prompt to save your project.

Create a project

Click File > New project.

Open a project

If you use Open project to open other file types, such as parts, slice files, and CAD files, these files and any files associated with them are added to the current project.

  1. Click File > Open project.
  2. Browse to and select the file you want to open.

To save a project

To save the state of the currently loaded project, click File > Save project.

To save it under a new name, click File > Save project as ..., provide a new name, then click OK.

Caution: This does not include any scripts such as repair, or machine configurations used in workspaces. Make sure to export them if you want to provide the project to someone else who needs to work on it and may not have the scripts and configurations that you do.

Export a project to STL

  1. Click File > Export project to STL.
  2. Browse to a folder and enter a file name to export to.

    The project and all its parts are saved as one STL file.
