Scheduled saving of a snapshot of the current project
Creating and updating an autosave
Generation of an autosave snapshot is equivalent to saving the project manually, including what this saves and what it doesn't save, except that it also happens at a regular interval.
- A project does not need a first proper save to establish an autosave.
- Autosaving happens to a separate file, even if an existing project file was loaded.
- The snapshots are stored at %appdata%\netfabb\autosave\.
- The default autosave interval is 60 minutes. Change the interval at .
- An autosave file does not exist until the first time an interval has elapsed.
- One autosave state is stored per launched session, and overwritten with every update.
- Some states of Netfabb prevent creating or updating an autosave, such as a toolpath calculation in progress, or working in a module or editor such as Texture and color.
Using an autosave
- On launching Netfabb with autosaves present, a dialog provides a list to choose from.
Autosave cleanup
- Any existing autosave snapshots are deleted during regular closing of Netfabb, including any snapshots left by previous irregular terminations.
- Terminating Netfabb through Task Manager, or Netfabb crashing, preempts the deletion.
