To position a image placeholder

Place an image which later gets replaced by the actual screenshot

Note: These steps are performed in LibreOffice Writer, not in Netfabb, and make use of the Fields dialog as explained in To create a report template.

Image fields are placeholder images with certain names. Netfabb replaces them with screenshots that are always of 1600×1200 pixels in size and 4:3 aspect ratio. Using a placeholder image of that aspect ratio helps, although it is technically not required as only the size and ratio of the embedded representation matters.

A 4:3 image for use as a placeholder in a report template. Feel free to download it through right-click and choosing Save image as, or whichever equivalent your web browser offers.

  1. In LibreOffice, place the cursor in the desired position for the image.
  2. Choose Insert > Image.
  3. Navigate to an image file and click Open.
  4. Right-click the image and choose Properties.
  5. Select the Options tab and edit the Name field to NETFABB_PLATFORMVIEW_ISO, in all-capital letters.
  6. Click OK.
