This card is used to automatically include boundary conditions for directed energy deposition (DED) simulations. There are two supported options: i1 = 1, simply supported substrate, or i1 = 2, cantilevered substrate. These options are depicted in the figures below.
The simply supported substrate fixes nodes at the 3 corners of the model substrate, one in X, Y, Z, one in X and Z, and one only in Z.
The cantilevered option fixes 2 corner nodes on the X minimum side of the build plate, in X, Y, and Z.
