E5052

E5052 WARNING: E5052 EXCESSIVE ERROR MEASURE DETECTED FOR ONE OR MORE MODES
Cause: The extraction error measure for one or modes was greater than 0.01. The error measure given for each mode extracted indicates the accuracy of the corresponding eigenvalue and eigenvector. Usually, the lowest mode has the smallest error measure and the highest accuracy. The opposite is true for the highest mode.
Action: For the subspace eigensolver:

If an E5046 message is also given, increase the maximum number of subspace iterations permitted on the EIGRL Bulk Data entry. If an E5053 message is also given, add PARAM, EIGENSOLACCEL, OFF to the Model Input File Case Control Section. Otherwise, change the following parameters on the EIGRL Bulk Data entry one at a time in the order shown:

  • Decrease the convergence tolerance.
  • Increase the number of additional iteration vectors.
  • Increase the number of desired roots.
For the Lanczos eigensolver change the following parameters in the order shown:
  • Decrease the value of PARAM, SPARSEITERTOL (default 1.0E-5).
  • Decrease the convergence tolerance on the EIGRL Bulk Data entry.
Remarks: See Autodesk Nastran Reference Guide, Section 4, Bulk Data, for entry format, and Section 5, Parameters, for more information.
