Tutorial B9: Set Up the Model

  1. Start Autodesk Inventor Nastran.
  2. From Open navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Autodesk\Inventor Nastran 2025\Tutorial\en-us\Inventor 2025 folder and open Simple Wheel.ipt .
  3. Click File, Save As and save the part as Simple Wheel.ipt . This allows you to reuse the original part.
  4. Click Environments > Autodesk Inventor Nastran.
  5. Go to Tools > Document Settings > Units. Set the units to inch and lbmass (pound). They will become the Default units.
  6. Or, double-click Units in the tree and select a Unit System with units set to inch and lbmass (pound).

  7. Click OK.
