Tutorial B6: Set Up the Model

  1. Start Autodesk Inventor Nastran.
  2. From Open dialog, set the file type as Parasolid Text Files. Navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Autodesk\Inventor Nastran 2025\Tutorial\en-us\Inventor 2025 folder and open manifold.X_T.
  3. In the Import dialog box, accept the default settings.
  4. Click File, Save As and save the part as Thermal Stress Manifold.ipt. This allows you to reuse the original part.
  5. Click Environments > Autodesk Inventor Nastran.
  6. Go to Tools > Document Settings > Units. Set the units to inch and lbmass (pound). They will become the Default units.
  7. Or, double-click Units in the tree and select a Unit System with units set to inches and pounds.
  8. Click OK.
