Tutorial B2: Set Up the Model

  1. Start Autodesk Inventor Nastran.
  2. From Open, navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Autodesk\Inventor Nastran 2025\Tutorial\en-us\Inventor 2025 folder and open trailer frame a.ipt.
  3. Click File, Save As and save the part as Beams Trailer Frame a.ipt. This allows you to reuse the original part.
  4. Click Environments > Autodesk Inventor Nastran.
  5. Go to Tools > Document Settings > Units. Set the units to inch and lbmass (pound). They will become the Default units.
  6. Or, double-click Units in the tree and select a Unit System with units set to inches and pounds.

  7. Click OK.
