- At the Command prompt, enter dbconnect.
- On the dbConnect Manager, right-click Data Sources and click Configure Data Source.
- In the Configure a Data Source dialog box, do one of the following:
- Create a data source. In the Data Source Name box, enter a name for the data source. Click OK.
- Edit an existing data source. In the Data Sources list box, select a data source. Click OK.
- In the Data Link Properties dialog box, Provider tab, select Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle. Click Next.
- In the Select or Enter a Server Name box, enter the Oracle server name.
- In the User Name and Password boxes, enter a valid user name and password.
- Click Test Connection to verify that the settings are correct.
For example, spelling errors and case sensitivity may be the cause of a failed connection.
- Click OK.
