File Attributes
File attributes allow you to label files with useful information without modifying the file name or version. Files attributes are added to folders and helps define structured metadata categories for files in those folders.
All files have default system attributes (such as name, description) to get you started. You can also create and add custom attributes folders to capture specific values and help you to search files with more meaningful properties. Custom attributes can also be set as required for empty folders. This means that the custom attributes of files added to those folders must have values which comply with the relevant attribute settings.
When you look at your files, the attributes names are displayed as column headings.
Members with edit or manage permissions can manage attributes at a folder-level. Project administrators can also manage attributes at a project-level using attributes settings.
