To create Curve items from a CAD model

Curve items enable you to create a digitised curve from wireframe or the edge of a surface in a CAD model. Use them to create a series of guides for marking out a clay model.

By default, the item creates a continuous curve around the edge of the selected surface. The Split The Curve Into Points option lets you mark points on the curve.

Note: Curve items are available only when creating inspections for CNC and Manual machines.
  1. Choose Home > Mouse Context > Wireframe Checker.
  2. Right-click the CAD View and choose Wireframe or Simple Wireframe.
  3. Select Geometry Explorer.
  4. In the CAD View, left-click the edge from which you want to create a curve.
  5. In the Geometry Explorer tab, select Curve from the list of features.
  6. Click to add a Curve item to the inspection sequence.
  7. Double-click the Curve item.
  8. In the Curve dialog, set these options:
    • Visible. Displays the curve in the CAD view.
    • Colour. Opens the palette to specify the colour of the curve in the CAD view.
  9. To mark points along the curve, select Split into points, and select an option. Click:
    • By Distance. Enter a value for Interval to specify the distance between each point.
    • By Normalised Parameter. Specifies the distance between the points as normalised units. A value between 0 and 1 in Interval specifies the distance between points as a proportion of the total curve length.
