To export dynamic points to an ASCII file

To export the selected dynamic points to an ASCII file, click Dynamic Points tab > Edit panel > Export. You can then import the points into other PowerInspect documents or other applications.

Note: If no points are selected when you click the button, all dynamic points in the document are exported.

The points are exported in the following format:

  • Point name: names enclosed in double quotation marks are entered by the user; names enclosed in single quotation marks are auto-generated names containing spaces.
  • XYZ coordinates of the point location.
  • IJK coordinates of the surface normal at the point location.
  • Offset of the point from the surface.
  • Low tolerance.
  • High tolerance.
  • Point type: SP indicates a surface point; EP indicates an edge point.
