Feeds and speeds - probing strategy

Use the Feeds and speeds page to specify the speeds for each movement type in an inspection probe path.

  • Approach feed rate — Enter the speed of the probe as it moves between the safe area and the Approach Distance.
  • Measure feed rate — Enter the speed of the probe as it searches for the surface, starting from the Approach Distance. The probe continues at this speed up to the Search Distance.
  • Connection feed rate — Enter the speed of the probe as it moves within the safe area between approaches . This is typically a smaller value than machine tool rapid moves, as sudden accelerations can cause the probe to inappropriately trigger.
