Patterns are a collection of curves. Patterns can be used in PowerMill as references for toolpath generation or feature creation. Some examples of using features are:
- Driving toolpaths.
- Creating features.
- Influencing toolpath properties, such as tool axis.
- Blending toolpaths between curves, for example flowline toolpaths.
Patterns help you to create custom toolpaths which are used to manufacture complex geometry by influencing the calculation of the toolpath.
You can access many of the functions you need to create and modify boundaries from the Pattern tab on the ribbon.
