Process parameters are user-defined attributes, with associated values, attached to individual points along a toolpath. They enable you to apply instructions about the deposition process to individual points along a toolpath.
Use process parameters to control the deposition of material at any point along a toolpath. For example, you can reduce the feedrate to deposit more material, or include wait commands to allow the material to cool before proceeding.
Note: You need to configure your post-processor to interpret the user-defined attributes as machine operations.
Toolpaths are created with the default PowerMill parameters. At any point along the toolpath, you can use process parameter 'recipes' to override the default values.
A recipe contains the following information:
- A recipe name.
- A Tag that relates to an operation in the NC program.
- Locations along the toolpath where the parameter is attached.
- The value associated to the Tag.
