Editing an object

To edit objects, select the objects you want to change. If you select only one object, handles specific to that type of object are displayed. If you select multiple objects, the handles are not displayed.

  • To delete one or more objects
    • Press the Delete key
    • Click Home tab > Delete panel > Delete
  • To drag-move one or more objects:
    1. Position the cursor over the objects, but away from any of their edit handles or key points.
    2. Click and hold the left mouse button, then move the cursor. The objects are picked by the key point closest to your click position and dragged as you move the cursor.
    3. Release the mouse button to drop the object.
  • To drag-copy an object:
    • Press and hold the Ctrl key and drag-move the objects. A copy of the originals is moved to the new position.
  • To cut or copy an object:
    1. Select Home tab > Clipboard panel > Cut or Home tab > Clipboard panel > Copy.
    2. In another position, another model window or another model, select Home tab > Clipboard panel > Paste.
  • To reshape an object:

    Drag edit handles to alter the size and shape of the following object types:

  • To trim or transform an object using the following editing tools:
  • To modify the parameters of an object:
    • Double click the object
    • Right-click the object and select Modify from the context menu.

You can also edit objects using the Intelligent Cursor, and using options on the Home and Edit tabs.
