You can morph regions on a model, using polygons to define the areas. Using polygons enables you to reshape up to three regions:
- within an inner curve
- outside an outer curve
- between the two curves
To use polygon regions:
- Create the inner and outer polygons.
Use the following example to identify the regions and the curves on a mesh:
Inner transform region.
Inner curve.
Blend region.
Outer curve.
Outer transform region.
Using this method, you can move a single point and blend the move into the rest of the model. This is useful to counteract the sagging of the centre of a part after manufacture.
The example uses the centre of gravity to compensate for sag that occurs at the centre of a plate after it has been made. In this case the centre of the plate is moved by 2.0 and a smooth blend applied to the outer curve around the edge of the plate.
- Select the mesh and click Mesh Tools tab > Triangles panel > Morph using Curves.
- Morph the regions using the Morph Triangles using Curves dialog.
