Closing and opening a surface

You can close, or create an opening, between the first and last points of an open or closed surface curve respectively.

To close a curve:

1. Use the direction arrow on the surface to select the direction you wish to close the surface.

   In this case, the lateral direction is selected:

   

2. Select the Surface Tools tab > Modify panel > Closed option.

   This closes the surface between the first and last points on each lateral:

   

To open a surface:

1. Use the direction arrow on the surface to select the direction you wish to open the surface.

   In this case, the lateral direction is selected:

   

2. Deselect the Surface Tools tab > Modify panel > Closed option.

   The surface opens between the first and the last point on each lateral:
