About drawings

A drawing is equivalent to a piece of paper. A model can contain a number of drawings. You can use drawings to:

  • enter and annotate 2D geometry.
  • create views of a 3D model and annotate the model directly.

For example, you can create a drawing of the following example model in two ways:

  • Create the 3D model in PowerShape, and create views on a drawing of the different projections of the model .
  • Tip: This type of drawing exists inside the model, and is displayed in both the model window and the drawing window. Switch between windows using View tab > Windows panel > Arrange & Switch.
  • Create 2D geometrical objects directly onto the drawing .
  • Tip: The objects created in this type of drawing exist only in the drawing, not in a model.
