Properties options

Use the Properties page of the Options dialog to specify various settings associated with operation and appearance of PowerShape.

  1. Click File > Options > Application Options > General > Properties.
  2. Specify the program operation and appearance using the following options:

Save Time Warning

  • Warning time delay — Enter a value to specify the frequency, in minutes, at which the warning is displayed.
  • Warning required — Select this option to display a warning at the specified frequency, to tell you when you last saved a model. Deselect this check box to disable the Save warnings.

Long Operation Alert

  • Long operation time delay — Enter a value to specify the time, in seconds, that PowerShape must be busy before the operation is classed as long.
  • Alert required — Select this option to make PowerShape beep when long operations finish. Deselect this option to turn the beep off.
    Note: An hourglass appears at the bottom of the screen to indicate the program is busy.

Appearance

  • Colour scheme — Select a colour scheme from the drop-down list and press Set Colour Scheme as Default. This will save the scheme as your chosen default and this scheme will be used each time PowerShape is started.
  • Proportional font — Select a font from the drop-down list. The font is used by the intelligent cursor and is also the default font for creating text and for text in balloons.
  • Fixed width font — Select a font from the drop-down list. This font is used by scrolled texts in dialogs such as the Information dialog.
  • IC font height — Enter a value to specify the height of the font used by the intelligent cursor.
  • Set Colour Scheme as Default — Select this option to store the selected colour scheme as the default, which will be used each time PowerShape is started.

Session Options

You can store the settings on the pages of the Options dialog and use them in the next session.

  • Restart with default options — Select this option to use the default settings when you restart the program.
  • Restart with current options — Select this option to remember the latest settings on the Options dialog when you exit the program. When you restart the program, it will use those settings again.
  • Restart with stored options — Select this option to use your stored settings when you exit the program.
  • Store restart options — This stores the current settings on the Options dialog. Restart with stored options must also be selected.

    All the settings on the Options dialog are stored and will be used in the next session.

    The stored settings apply to either:

    • a model
    • a session

    as defined in Show difference between user and model (File > Options > Application Options > General > Units and Tolerances). This option changes the font to indicate if the setting applies to a model or session.

    Note: Template models can be used to store the model options.
  • Reset / Load / Save — Click these buttons to:
    • Reset the options to the state when PowerShape was started.
    • Load a previously saved options file.
    • Save the options file.
  • Query before starting multiple instances — Select this option to display a query message when you try to start another copy of the program.
