PowerShape includes support for electrode frames. An electrode frame is an offset section of the electrode base that is machined accurately to allow pre-setting of the electrode.
The following electrode was created without a frame:
To create a similar electrode with a frame:
- Click File > Options > Application Options > Manufacturing > Electrode and select the Alignment page.
- Select Create frame.
- Click OK.
- Click Wizard tab > Electrode panel > Create.

Electrode Wizard to create an electrode that includes a frame

- You can display the burn region shading as follows:
- Display the shaded view of the model.
- Right-click on the electrode and select Burn-area Shading.
The electrode frames are coloured purple
; this allows different machining strategies to be applied easily using
PowerMill templates.
