Optimising the tree

Speed up the redefinition of multiple features in a large feature tree by optimising the solid feature tree. This groups together multiple occurrences of the same features.

Optimise the tree in one of the following ways:

  • Automatic optimisation uses the Group features option on File > Options > Application Options > Object > Solids dialog. For example, using the default settings, you are asked if you wish to optimise the tree after 20 holes are created in the solid.
  • Use the solid feature tree to optimise the tree by creating feature groups. You can then edit feature groups to make identical changes to a large number of features.
  • Use Explode to remove the groups that are created by optimising the tree. In the solid feature tree:
    1. Select the group you want to ungroup.
    2. Right-click the Feature and select Explode from the solid context menu.

The group is removed and the features are moved into the main tree.

Note: If the group was part of a parent group, the features are moved into the parent group.
