Clouds are groups of X, Y, Z data points. They can be generated in PowerShape by importing cloud data, acquiring data points by using scanning or probing devices, or by converting PowerShape point items.
Note: The availability of this feature is license dependent.
Use the following sections for more information on generating and editing points and point clouds:
- Import a cloud
- Acquire points using various devices
- You can copy items from PowerInspect as a cloud and paste into PowerShape.
The point cloud data file can contain more than just point data on each line of the file. The x y and z must be the first 3 columns of data.
For example, PowerShape can read a file that contains the following line:
0.23124 1.27482 9.288374 JJJJJJ KKKKKK LLLLLL
Note: The first three columns of data must be numeric. The remaining data can be text. - Convert items to or from clouds
- Create meshes and curves from clouds
- Select clouds
- Modify clouds
Tip: You can also cut or copy selected points from a cloud and paste them elsewhere.
