Creating objects using a probe

You can use a probe to create objects in several ways:

  • Digitising physical geometry

Before probing for points, select an object creation option, for example, click Wireframe tab > Create panel > Line or Curve. When you start probing, the points are used to create a line or curve.

  • Digitising a surface

Before probing for points, click Surface tab > Create panel > From Patches. Complete the Surface Creation from Patches dialog, using the probe to create points along the lateral curves.

  • Selecting a point

Use the probe in the same way as you would use a mouse to select a point. The coordinates selected by the probe are in World workspace.

  • Primitives from Points

Use the Primitives from Points dialog to create primitive objects from points generated using the probe.
