Importing an E57 File with One Panorama for Each Scan

When importing an e57 file that contains 1 panorama image for each scan, do the following.

  1. Import the e57 file. The Scan Settings dialog displays.

  1. Enable "Import Image" to use e57 image data when the RealView is generated.

    Note: When "Import Image" is disabled, the point cloud imports as it is.

  2. Click Import Files.

If the source e57 file contains both multiple point cloud data (data3D) and multiple panorama images (spherical image2D), each data3D will automatically be matched with the corresponding panorama image2D when constructing RealViews.

Unstructured data3D from the e57 file will use the panorama image information to construct a structured scan. Otherwise, the resulting scan will also be unstructured.

When Import Image is enabled, structured data3D from the e57 file will use structured point cloud data and panorama image information when generating the RealView.

When Import Image is disabled, structured data3D from the e57 file will use structured point cloud data and disregard panorama image information when generating the RealView.

Note: If the e57 file has images but not panorama images, the Import Image option is disabled and a message displays explaining that other image types are not supported.
