Extract the Linear Feature
Once the origin, direction, and template have been established, extraction can begin.
If not already in edit mode from the previous steps:
- In the Project Browser, place your cursor over the linear extraction, and click
Edit. Zoom in to review the feature points.
- Select a feature point to display the Cross Section viewer and the Cross Section Widget.
Begin the Extraction
Click
Start Auto Extraction.
The linear feature extraction begins to generate leveraging the Alignment Algorithm Threshold and Step Interval settings.
Note: To individually create each cross section at a time, clickExtract Next to step through each iteration.
The extraction continues creating iterative cross sections following the point cloud data until you click
Stop Auto Extraction or the Alignment Algorithm Threshold is not met.
For example if the extraction finds a sharper curve in the point cloud data that it is following, auto extraction will pause. A warning dialog will then display, offering two options:
- Stop. Extraction stops to allow the cross section to be adjusted. Extraction will need to be started again once complete.
- Ignore. The extraction continues to the next cross section interval until the threshold is not met again.
Once stopped. You can edit the last cross section to adjust feature points, or alter the direction path of the extraction. See Modify the Extraction for more information.
After any issues are resolved, you can start the auto extraction again.
