Modify the Extraction

Make changes to the template or cross individual cross sections

If not already in edit mode from the previous steps:

  • In the Project Browser, place your cursor over the linear extraction, and click  Edit. Zoom in to review the feature points.
  • Select a feature point in the cross section needed to be edited. This displays the Cross Section viewer and the Cross Section Widget.
Note: You also can select any feature point and step through to the desired cross section using the Cross Section Navigation tool:  .

Arrange Feature Points

Left-click, hold, and drag a point to relocate it in the Cross Section View.

Add Feature Points

  1. In the Cross Section View, click  Edit Feature Points. Gray points display equidistant from the existing feature points.
  2. Click one to make it a feature point.

Delete Feature Points

  1. In the Cross Section View, click  Edit Feature Points. Left-click the point to be deleted.
  2. Select  Delete Point to remove it from the section.

Adjust the Direction of the Extraction

Left-click, hold, and drag the arrow of the Cross Section widget to adjust the path direction of the extraction. This is useful when the Alignment Algorithm Threshold has not been met and needs slight redirection to get back on track.

Reposition the Cross Section

Left-click, hold, and drag the Cross Section widget in the ReCap Viewer.

Adjust a Cross Section to an Updated Template

It is important to note, that when a template is updated, global changes are not made to the extraction. The template will only affect future generated cross sections. However, individual cross sections can be updated to match the template.

In the Cross Section View, click  Auto Refine. The feature points will adjust to meet the current template specifications.
