Define the Template for the Linear Feature

Specify the default feature point arrangement that defines your extraction.

By default, the first cross section created is the template for future extraction. The template is marked with a star in the ReCap Viewer near the feature points of the cross section.

Specify a New Template

  1. Select a feature point within the cross section that will be a template. This selects the cross section.

  2. Arrange the feature points of the cross section as needed to define the shape of the extraction.

See Modify the Extraction for more information on cross section editing.

Tip After modifying, you can click to save the new configuration as an extraction template.

  3. Right-click the Cross Section Widget in the ReCap Viewer.

  4. Select Set Template from the context menu. The cross section now displays a star.

Important: Each cross section that has previously been created after the new template will need to be adjusted to match the template. Use the Auto Refine tool on each subsequent cross section from either the Cross Section View or the context menu (right-clicking the cross section in the ReCap Viewer). Newly created cross sections will follow the template.
